This is a blog for my daughter Scarlett. She was born with a complex congenital heart defect known as Tetralogy of Fallot with Pulmonary Atresia. She is my little hero.

97

I just woke up from what seemed like the most sleep I've had in months (5 hours in-a-row), and there's my tough little girl next to me in her hospital bed peacefully sleeping (she's still under sedation) from her very long day following a 7-hour open heart surgery. I got up to check her "numbers" and I said out loud to Maria her nurse: "Holy Cow her oxygen is 97!" a number I've never seen since she was born. And Maria says: "Yeah, sure beats the 60s, right?"...and I just say: "I can't believe it."

So of course I had to take a picture. Her oxygen went down to 95 in this pic, but still.... it's amazing and wonderful. :)  All her numbers look great. She definitely has an entire legion of angels protecting her and keeping her safe. Thank u God (& all the angels and saints) for taking care of my little girl. Blessed be God forever. Amen.

  1. Those numbers are AWESOME. Sitting and looking at 60s and 70s all day is pretty scary. I can't wait for Hope to be in the 90s. Scarlett is an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your miracle through your blog!

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

  5. I LOVE all those numbers. I wish those oximeter machines weren't so expensive. . . Cuz it should be a heart mom right of passage to burn it when you are done with it! She looks really good. We continue to pray and of course, I have pleaded with the Lord to let Ethan be an angel watching over her too!

PS: each time Ethan had an admission I slept sooooo good the first night too. Its a relief to have the nurses around.
